It's hard to believe that it is already the beginning on March! Time is just flying. We've been home from my knee surgery for 2 weeks now, and while the knee is still stiff and aches, I know that it will be better in the long run. I started therapy on Monday and at the moment am going 2 times a week with the possibility of going 3 times a week.
Kylie started going to gymnastics on Tuesday and LOVES it!! Her favorite part so far is the spring board. She loved running across the gym floor and jumping off that board and getting some real height from it. She has been practicing her "back" arches and will be attempting to flip over from there. She will be doing "bars" next Tuesday according to the teacher. I know those are my personal favorite and now she'll love it as well.
I got an e-mail from her teacher yesterday stating that she was doing so well in class with her grades and attitude that I will not have to attend conferences that her report card will just be sent home for me to sign and then return. I am really proud of her for her hard work. She has been getting straight B's, which is fantastic!!! She has done several science projects this year which she has worked really hard and gotten B's on them as well.
Alexis is growing like a little weed, she is just such a joy to watch. She has become quite the "mocking bird" and loves to try to do everything Kylie does. If Kylie screeches with joy, so does she. If Kylie gets a drink, so does she. If the kitty meows, well, so does she.
I've been trying to teach her as much sign language as I know, and she's very quick at picking it up. :) Yesterday she put 2 words together, saying them as well as signing. We were making cookies to mail to daddy and she knows how much Kylie likes the dough, so she said, "More please." Got a spoon from the cupboard and kept saying this until I gave her a little bit. Lexi also knows that daddy drives the big truck, so anytime she sees a big truck now, she gets excited and screams, Daddy!!
Today we were out getting my allergy shots done. She knows when it's my turn, she gets a sticker. It's been tough getting her to wait for my turn, but today, she sat on my lap waiting with every ounce of her patience she could use. As soon as she heard my name she jumped down and ran to the room where I get my shots. Everyone in the room laughed because most of them see her every week when we're there. One lady kept saying how precious it was that she now waits to hear my name. She actually knows where we are just from being in the parking lot. It's amazing to me how she knows that she will get a sticker every time we go.!!
It's wonderful to watch these 2 beautiful little girls grow up and change and learn new things every single day!! I haven't been able to take many pictures lately with my knee and getting the right angles that I'd like, but I will put more pictures up soon!
