This past week has been really busy. On the 13th I had knee surgery from an old injury from
8 yrs ago. Since I needed help with the girls, and Kylie was off school this week, we packed up and headed to Napa where Jean (my best friend) took care of me and both girls. We have all been really spoiled this past week, it will be hard to go back to normal starting Monday. My knee is still pretty sore and stiff, but I know that when it heals, it will be well worth the surgery!
Alexis has been loving being here and playing with her "Uncle" Dan (Jean's husband), she calls him "DanDan". She follows him every where and gets super excited when he gets home from work. I know she's missing her daddy a lot, and it's nice to know that she "borrow" a daddy for a few days. She also enjoys playing with Todd, Jean's son, and calls him "TaTa" She is a big time flirt. Besides learning to say "Dan & Todd" this week, Alexis also learned to say, "McDonalds". We were on our way back from getting my stitches out Thursday, when Kylie decided to start chanting, "Mc-Don-alds, Mc-Don-alds" then next thing we knew, Lexi was chanting it with her.
I love how she is mimicking everything we do and say. It's so much fun to watch her learn new things every day!!
Today, "Uncle" Dan took both Kylie and Erin to horseback riding lessons. The girls got 30 mins each on the horse and had a fantastic time. Kylie is really starting to grow and not be so afraid of all the fun things she can do. After horseback lessons, he took the girls fishing down at the river, then on a bike ride to lunch, then back to fishing. They love doing things with Dan and I know he enjoys taking them as much as they enjoy going. Tomorrow is Erin's b-day party so it will be another day full of fun!!
I am so lucky and blessed to have such an awesome Best Friend who does so much for my family and myself. She goes out of her way to help us and I appreciate every single moment of it!
Sorry I don't have any new picture updates, when I get home and I can get to my adapter, I will add the cutest picture of the girls, in the car on the day they were chanting together.

such hams!

Being an almost 2yr old little girl, Alexis is starting to develop quite the little personality. In the picture to the left, she has decided that she didn't want me looking at her so she pointed at me to turn around. She does this also when she wakes up, but doesn't want to get out of bed, she'll point to the door and wave good-bye to me. It's amusing to say the least.

Kylie and I had our hair done last week so we decided to show it off in the pictures below. Much to everyone's surprise....... Kylie cut off about 5". The hairstylist was especially surprised since she's so used to Kylie saying only this much and this much being about 1/4 of an inch, just enough to cut off the ends. She is really happy with it as in the past few weeks she's become extremly concerned with the way her hair looks. She didn't like that it would get static and fly, so now with all split ends gone, her hair is no longer flying away. She has also started being obsessed with her eye brows and has made sure that she now has 2!!

I forgot to switch this picture around, but here we are again waiting for kylie to get out of school. Alexis discovered Kylie's headband in the back seat and she asked me for it. (pointing frantic like unti I saw that it was the head band) She put in on her head and then decided that the Olivia Newton-John look was what she was striving for! She is a very entertaining little girl from the moment she wakes up until she goes to bed! She enjoys in every aspect being the center of attention.
We have also really been enjoying our newest addition, "Cooper", this includes "Tinkerbel" who is loving having a new playmate. One that actually will play with her!! :) It is a site to see, "Coop" is quite a bit bigger than the dog and he tends to chase her everywhere. Here they are both in my lap "Cooper" is giving the dog a bath, since she had just given him one. They really get along and it's fun to watch them roll around and play. Sometimes Cooper gets a little rough, after all he does out weigh her by about 5 pounds at least!
Also with Cooper not being a declawed cat, which I'd prefer to not do again, I bought a product called "Soft Paws", which is a plastic cap that goes over the claw and is super glued to it. Kind of like a fake finger nail. This keeps the cat from being able to scratch and ruin furniture (which he hasn't tried at all yet =) ) , or to keep him from scratching the kids. Right now, he has some bright red toes, just in time for Valentine's Day! Kylie thinks it's hysterical to see her cat with red toes. It looks like we painted them.

Just news!

Here is an older picture of Lexi, wearing Tara's bike helmet. She loves to wear the things that are too big for her. Also a recent picture of the girls and our "Cooper Kitty". We were just playing around with the camera on the computer, I think it turned out pretty good and I thought that I would share the pictures with you!
Lexi is now wanting to "talk" on the phone any and everytime it rings. She loves to hear the voice on the other end and laughs and screams every time and during the entire conversation! It's so fun to watch her smile as the person on the other end calls her name!!
A new word for Lexi today is "Bubba". The next door neighbor has a dog named "Roxy", that Alexis is just in love with!! Her owner Koney, calls her "Bubba" and today, Lex was calling her, saying, "Bubba" (kiss kiss) "Bubba" (kiss kiss). It was the neatest thing ever!!
Kylie got her "progress report" from school and she's getting all B's!! We are so proud of her. Especially for getting her grades up in reading and writing, not her favorite subjects. She's really doing well!!

new pics of the kids

Okay, so Scott told me I needed to update my page, so here's a few new things going on here at home! We've been enjoying this sunny CA weather the past few days and have been playing outside! Alexis loves to be a "big girl" like her sister and they chase each other from our house to the neighbor 2 houses away. Alexis has also discovered that she really likes to attempt to ride Kylie's scooter. We drop the handle bar to her level, she holds on, while Kylie pushes her! It great to see the girls play together.

Lexi has also become quite the ham, anytime she sees the camera come out, she believes that it needs to be on her! She has become very into playing cards, no not "playing" cards, but playing with cards! This is one of her new favorite things to do! Lexi also has a love of our new kitty "Cooper", she's always hugging him, kissing him, and attempting to pick him up. It's her job to feed the kitty and she makes sure that "Coop" is never lacking for a meal. :)

Kylie is getting really into our Wii Fit. It's hard to get her off of it at times, but at least it's a video game that makes her get up and MOVE!! Her favorite game on there is hula hoop. She's excellent at it and has gotten up to 800 something hula's in a one minute time frame!! She also likes the ski jump game and has gotten 179 feet in one turn, getting her a 1st place position.

I am enjoying the fit as well and am hoping to lose all the holiday weight I put on! :) I've also been spending quite a bit of time with my Best Friend Jean who's been coming over to our house to keep us company. It's great to get to spend time with her and have some "adult time" every few weeks! Lexi loves her "Yanny Yean" and screams when she sees her!

Also, Lexi has been learning a lot of new things in the past couple of weeks. She has learned how to say her own name, "Lex-issssssssssss" is how she says it. Also, "Yanny Yean" (auntie jean), she also has discovered that her reflection copies her and can be a really good friend to "talk" to!

Both girls are doing great and it's wonderful to see them grow and change every single day!

Cooper

Happy New Year to everyone! We want hope that finds you all well and happy!! We have added a new member to our home. We decided our home just wasn't complete without a kitty so we went in search of a new furry friend. We went to several different places and ended up at the Stockton Animal Shelter, where we found "Cooper". He's part Maine Coon, he's brown, white and black, and is a bundle of love!! He is really good with both girls and is spoiled already. Instead of jumping up to his food by himself, he prefers to be lifted to his food. Kylie loves that this kitty will lay with her when he is ready to take a nap! It's also nice to know that "Tinkebell" and "Cooper" get along also. They love to chase each other around the coffee table. Coop is bigger than "Tink", so he likes to pounce on her back and they roll all over the floor. He is fitting in purrfectly with our family!!

this holiday

This holiday season has been super busy here at the Walker house. Christmas with Beth's family has always been at her Aunt Ve's house, this year she offered to have the whole family at her house and have a big turkey dinner, which we hadn't done in years. Beth had never made a turkey alone before, but felt okay about making it, since Scott had given her a roaster this year for Christmas. What was supposed to be a fairly large gathering, turned into her parents and one cousin with her husband. It was just a small get together but we had a great time! For her first turkey ever, it turned out moist, juicy, and delicious! I won't be so afraid to make a holiday dinner alone anymore! While opening gifts and visiting Scott called us and we got to all "chat" with him, in the picture <-- is a picture of us with daddy!! Alexis was so happy to show daddy her cards that she kept pushing Kylie out of way to show him.
The next day which was Christmas Day, we opened the rest of our presents, then got dressed and headed out to Tiffany's house where we had brunch, so yummy, hung out with all of Scott's family, opened a few more gifts, took a walk, and watched "Elf". (not necessarily in that order.) We also got to snuggle with little baby Avery, who is just the cutest little baby as you can see from the picture below. After all the children napped, it was off again to Scott's Aunt Marcy and Uncle Gary's house in San Ramon, where we ate some more and then some of us watched The Incredibles, while other's played a card game. Kylie played cards and thought her cousin's were "crazy" as they really got into the game. It was a really wonderful evening. The day after Christmas, we packed up a few left overs and headed next door, where we ate yet some more and then watched Horton Hears a Hoo, which Kylie has been aching to watch. It was a really funny movie. Kylie then taught Les how to play the game she had been playing with Aunt LaVonne and the rest of our family. We were just about ready to have desert when Lexi decided it was time to go to bed, and we had to come home. All in all, even though it was a whirl wind week, we had a great time, and I am so ready to see what is in store for 2009!

dressing like daddy

Last night after bath time, Kylie got her jammies on, then went to Scott's dresser and pulled out one of his black work shirts. She put it on and then Lexi noticed what she was wearing. Lexi then went to Scott's dresser also, pulled out an identical shirt and handed it to me. She was so excited to be dressed like her sister! The shirt went to the ground on her, but none the less, she was happy to have it on. The pictures are a bit blurry, but I took them with my camera phone, and was lucky to Lex to sit still long enough for the picture to even be taken! :)

We've also been "video chatting" with daddy and Alexis thinks it's great that she can see her daddy and now when ever I'm on the computer....she comes, sits on my lap and waves at the screen thinking her daddy is on the other end.
Also, I'm attaching an early Christmas picture with all the girls, Lexi is "brushing" Kylie's hair, while Tara and Kylie just pose for the camera. It was nice to see Tara again, she and Kylie had a great time playing and catching up!!
