this holiday

This holiday season has been super busy here at the Walker house. Christmas with Beth's family has always been at her Aunt Ve's house, this year she offered to have the whole family at her house and have a big turkey dinner, which we hadn't done in years. Beth had never made a turkey alone before, but felt okay about making it, since Scott had given her a roaster this year for Christmas. What was supposed to be a fairly large gathering, turned into her parents and one cousin with her husband. It was just a small get together but we had a great time! For her first turkey ever, it turned out moist, juicy, and delicious! I won't be so afraid to make a holiday dinner alone anymore! While opening gifts and visiting Scott called us and we got to all "chat" with him, in the picture <-- is a picture of us with daddy!! Alexis was so happy to show daddy her cards that she kept pushing Kylie out of way to show him.
The next day which was Christmas Day, we opened the rest of our presents, then got dressed and headed out to Tiffany's house where we had brunch, so yummy, hung out with all of Scott's family, opened a few more gifts, took a walk, and watched "Elf". (not necessarily in that order.) We also got to snuggle with little baby Avery, who is just the cutest little baby as you can see from the picture below. After all the children napped, it was off again to Scott's Aunt Marcy and Uncle Gary's house in San Ramon, where we ate some more and then some of us watched The Incredibles, while other's played a card game. Kylie played cards and thought her cousin's were "crazy" as they really got into the game. It was a really wonderful evening. The day after Christmas, we packed up a few left overs and headed next door, where we ate yet some more and then watched Horton Hears a Hoo, which Kylie has been aching to watch. It was a really funny movie. Kylie then taught Les how to play the game she had been playing with Aunt LaVonne and the rest of our family. We were just about ready to have desert when Lexi decided it was time to go to bed, and we had to come home. All in all, even though it was a whirl wind week, we had a great time, and I am so ready to see what is in store for 2009!
